My journey through colored dust

Mid July Plein Air

Hot July week just east of Calgary in the Bassano/Cluny area. It was too hot to paint or find inspiration to paint. Traveled many miles to find a good spot. ( I also felt rather uncomfortable, being alone, on the wide open prairie). I was trying to find a good place with trees. Not a loft around here. So I settled on going back to a spot on the Bow River near Cluny. At least there was some trees to sit under. I found an interesting tree saved by the floods last year, so I thought I would paint it. The bottom took a little wear as the waters battered by, but it's roots must have been strong, for it is still standing.
