It was a productive day plein air painting on Sunday.  I survived the 2 bear visitations just 20 feet in front of the stream I was painting. I keep thinking what the bear would have done if I hadn't just turned my chair to face the new scene. He was so quiet and I had just finished painting the small landscape when I moved positions. He did not see me anymore than I didn't see him. As soon as I yelled bear he was no where to be found, despite my back toward him as I walked at a quick pace to the others. After settling and painting the larger scene with the creek, another little black bear came along in the same place. Time to pack up and go home.
