My journey through colored dust

I had spent 3 days sorting pastels. I think maybe it was a way of procrastination. Although it is great to have this job finished, I find I still try to emulate the way others are doing their plein air work. I can do thumbnail with no problem. I think I am getting paranoid and stuck on this color thing. Knowing and doing are two different things. I may go back to my old ways, just to get back into the swing of things. If I can get going I can develop a style of my own.  I see artist coming off of the pastel convention workshops and work I once admired becomes a copy cat of the workshop instructor.
The stories I read, of this lapse of creativity I seem to be experiencing, is that I may be on  the brink of a break through. I surely hope so, because if something doesn't click soon I may delve into the depths of despair once again. Here is one basic exercise on color. First attempt. Soon to do more.
